Green Initiatives | Chair's Message

Dear EPIC Toledo Members,

The mission of the Green Initiatives Action Team is to, “Identify emerging green initiatives and their impact on the community, the environment, and the economics of Northwest Ohio .”  Basically, we would like to see a community that makes decisions that consider the well being of the people who live there, that respect our natural resources and that contribute to a thriving local economy.  Our goals for 2010 are:

• To develop and implement a Green Resource Guide for businesses.  Often businesses would like to become more green, but find the process very overwhelming.  We would like to create a guide that provides local resources in a clear, concise manner allowing businesses to quickly implement some procedures and plan for future opportunities.
• The expansion of the expert speakers at committee meetings or other EPIC events to broaden EPIC member’s knowledge and influence on green initiatives.  This will allow our members to gain an understanding of what is happening in our community currently and what is planned for the future.
• Continuation of the Green Scene in the EPIC Buzz to provide awareness of green living and sustainability to the global EPIC membership.
• To partner with other EPIC Action Teams on Green issues.

We welcome your participation on the Green Initiatives Action Team this year.  If you are interested in getting involved, please join us at our committee meetings on the 1^st Monday of every month at 12 pm at Packo’s at the Park.
