Jeff Schaaf, Co- Chair                   Julianne Lange, Co- Chair

Dear EPIC Toledo Members,

The Community Involvement Action Team connects EPIC members to volunteer programs by promoting opportunities for participation, involvement, and leadership.  Simply stated, we want our EPIC members to get involved in volunteer opportunities.

Our main goals for 2010 are:

To host a Nonprofit Board Education Seminar aimed at informing members of the duties and responsibilities involved in serving on a local Nonprofit’s Board of Directors and/or committee. In addition, we are also committed to updating our website with further relevant educational material as well as available Board positions.

To support quarterly volunteer events which impact our community. This year we will support organizations such as the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, United Way , and more.  Keep your eye on The Buzz for specific event details.

To communicate EPIC VIP our Volunteer Incentive Program which allows us to recognize EPIC members who volunteer within the community. As an organization, we reached nearly 1,500 hours of service in 2009.  Our goal for 2010 will be to increase that amount to 3,000 or more volunteer hours.

To offer EPIC members more opportunities to get involved with your community by enhancing our monthly meetings with speakers from local organizations and offering volunteer opportunities before, during, and after some of our meetings.

To create interactive and exciting content for our web page.

To increase our communication and engagement with other Action Teams through event partnership and cross-committee participation.

Please get involved! If you are interested in becoming part of our mission, we are looking for new members! Attend one of our monthly meetings or participate in one of our events to see what we are all about. We meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month.  Check the EPIC calendar for the monthly location.

In order to succeed and make a difference, we need everyone’s help.  We hope to see some new faces this year!

Sincerely,

Jeff Schaaf, Community Involvement Co-Chair
