EPIC Toledo members gathered at Manhattan's Pub 'N Cheer in Downtown Toledo for our monthly Social. We partnered with 
Food for Thought to make lunches for Toledo area residents. Socials are an opportunity for our members to meet new people and connect over complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. We will be announcing 2017 EPIC Toledo events on www.epictoledo.com.

November 2016 – Board Member Accelerator Series


29 young professionals completed The Board Member Accelerator Series with EPIC Toledo and Aly Sterling Philanthropy. The six-week course is designed to prepare young professionals for non-profit board service.

Connect IT is an opportunity for Information Technology professionals to come together and share ideas. Hosted by EPIC ToledoTech Toledo, and ProMedica, nearly 100 IT professionals attended the event and enjoyed roundtable discussions with experts in their field.

July 2016 – T-Town Dash

Nearly 100 young professionals explored downtown last Thursday Night and had a blast experiencing local businesses and the Art Loop.
 
Participants met artists at the Shared Lives Studio and enjoyed 10 cent hot dog night at Packo’s at the Park. They enjoyed drinks at local hotspots like The Blarney, Durty Bird, and Cock N’ Bulland visited iconic downtown locations such as the Huntington Center, Fifth Third Field, and the Library.  Their challenge? To navigate their clues successfully and support as many local businesses as possible along the way! From pedicabs to dancing with street performers, it was a fun filled night that wrapped up with an after party and prizes at M’ Osteria.

The annual EPIC Toledo Leadership Golf Outing was an enormous success! Nearly 80 Toledo business and community leaders and EPIC Toledo members split into foursomes for a morning of golf at the Toledo Country Club. May 2016 – The Breakfast Club with Colonel Craig Baker

Thirty-five EPIC Toledo members had the opportunity to have breakfast with Col. Craig Baker, Commander 180th Fighter Wing and listen to him share his Four Principles of Effective Leadership. From a Q & A session with the Commander, to gear demonstrations and a tour of the base, EPIC Members had a great and educational morning. Col. Baker even shared information about the F-35A mission with members that were curious about how the mission could positively impact our community.

In the fall of 2015, the leaders of the Chamber’s EPIC Advisory Council approached Aly Sterling Philanthropy with a challenge: how can we assist more young professionals become leaders on nonprofit boards? Their solution was to create a training series aimed at preparing next generation leaders to serve the missions of Toledo’s nonprofit organizations: The Board Member Accelerator.
The Board Member Accelerator delivered a real-life, hands-on education that empowered 30 EPIC members to successfully govern nonprofit organizations. This series is the first of its kind in Toledo and, to our knowledge, nationally. Read more about the course.


April 2016 Morning Member Mixer – MassMutual

Our Morning Member Mixer in April was a huge success. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about EPIC Toledo and hear from MassMutual’s Chief Talent Officer Jamie Heldt on why MassMutual was chosen as the “2016 World’s Most Ethical Company.” Held once each quarter, Morning Member Mixers are a great way to meet EPIC Advisory Council members and learn about ways to get more involved with EPIC Toledo.


9th EPIC Toledo Birthday Bash from the Past

Nearly 600 young professionals attended the 9th EPIC Toledo Birthday Bash in April. Thank you to everyone who attended the “Bash from the Past” at the newly renovated Hensville! Guests enjoyed an evening of dancing and entertainment, and had the opportunity to take in the spectacular view of downtown from the High Five Rooftop Deck. Additionally guests were able to view the beautiful blended photography created by EPIC Member Dennis Sawan. Check out his company, Right Half Media.
