THE FUTURE OF TOLEDO PANEL

DEAN MONSKE | Regional Growth Partnership
In February of 2011, Dean Monske was named President & CEO of the Regional Growth Partnership (RGP). The RGP is a private, nonprofit development corporation dedicated to fostering local, national, and international economic growth opportunities for northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
Prior to his appointment as President & CEO of the RGP, Dean was the Deputy Mayor for External Affairs in the administration of Toledo Mayor Michael P. Bell. Dean’s area of responsibility was coordinating the City of Toledo’s economic development efforts.
Mr. Monske also served as Vice President with the Regional Growth Partnership from 2006-2009. His responsibilities as Vice President included engaging investors in the business community, working with regional partners from both the private and public sector responsible for business retention and expansion, and serving as a face-to-face contact across the country promoting northwest Ohio. He also served as the Executive Director of the Oregon Economic Development Foundation.
Dean is a past board member for the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, past Executive Board member and Region 2 Director for the Ohio Economic Development Association (OEDA) and past President of the Northwest Ohio Regional Economic Development Association (NORED).
He was born and raised in Toledo and is an alumni of Bowling Green State University.
ROBIN WHITNEY | ProMedica
Robin Whitney is Chief Supply Chain, Real Estate and Construction Officer for ProMedica Health System, a not-for-profit mission-based, integrated healthcare organization headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.
In this capacity, Robin is responsible for all contracting and procurement services, real estate and construction for the organization, which includes 13 Acute Care Facilities in NW Ohio and SE Michigan and over 300 Post Acute Care Facilities in 27 States.
Robin received her undergrad from UT in Civil Engineering and is a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio. She received her EMBA from BGSU in 2013.
She was previously employed with The Lathrop Company, Dillin Corp and the City of Toledo prior to joining ProMedica Health System.
ANGELA LUCAS | TolHouse
Angela Lucas is co-founder at TolHouse, a private social club located in the Historic Vistula District of Toledo, OH.
As the former executive assistant to the Mayor of the City of Toledo, co-manager of the City of Toledo Human Relations Commission, director on the Cherry Street Mission board of directors and the University of Toledo’s Eberly Center community board, Angela is a 2018 20 Under 40 winner, and a speaker on topics of leadership, branding, and personal purpose. She currently sits on the board of directors for United Way Toledo, and has spoken for the Women Who Lead conference as well as the Northwest Ohio Health Information Management Association annual symposium, among many others.
Angela is a Toledo native, wife and mother.

DARRYL BROWN | Midwest Kids
About Darryl Brown
Designer/Creative Darryl “DB” Brown has come a long way from his Toledo, Ohio roots. Brown’s path from steel worker to railroad engineer/conductor at General Motors was a true embodiment of hard work. With his own unique street style and eye for fashion, he began styling local artists and acting as a buyer for a boutique in Toledo, OH. Brown decided to move to NYC and pivot from the blue-collar worker to what would be the beginning of his career in the entertainment and apparel industry.
Darryl worked as a marketing director and stylist for streetwear brands Rocksmith and SlamXHype collectively for 8 years. After a stint of freelance styling and creative initiatives, Darrlyn began working as a stylist/creative to another Midwest native, Kanye West. After much growth over 3 years, DB decided to launch two of his own clothing brands – his namesake label “Darryl Brown” during Paris fashion week in January 2019, and for the love and pride of his hometown region, “Midwest Kids” November 2018.

Dr. Deitra Hickey will navigate what it looks like when our stress gets out of hand while offering simple strategies on how to tackle life when it does. She will give practical, real-life examples of how to keep circumstances in perspective and have work/life balance, resilience, and quality relationships.
About Dr. Deitra Hickey
Dr. Deitra Hickey, is a professional motivational speaker and the owner of Serenity Health & Wellness Center and Serenity Nail Salon in Maumee. She has been a Maumee Chamber Board member and very involved with the community. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, has been married for 23 years, has two dogs, and loves to play competitive volleyball.
Deitra is a Licensed Counselor, certified life coach, author, and every Tuesday can be heard on WRQN as “Dr. D” giving advice to listeners.
She worked for Toledo Public Schools for 17 years. She was as a teacher, a school counselor, school principal and a professor at the University of Toledo. Deitra has conducted motivational speaking engagements for over a decade in the local area- including selling out the Valentine Theatre with her two empowerment night outs. In addition, she has traveled throughout the country and has been contracted as far away as Austria and Germany. Deitra developed her resilience at a young age due to the great deal of adversity that she endured. She has dedicated her life to helping others with their overall health and wellness, stress maintenance, life balance, and their journey towards professional and personal peace and contentment.
